It's been really warm in my office lately -- so warm that no matter what I wear, I sit there and sweat, even with a fan on. I find myself taking my shoes off, taking my sweater off, rolling my sleeves up to try and cool down. When I realized how nice it was outside, I was afraid it was going to be extra warm in the office and that I would need to dress appropriately for the office weather.
I also wanted something a bit cheery, since it was such a pretty day, and I started looking through my closet with that in mind. This dress caught my eye right off the bat. It's sleeveless, so I usually wear in the summer, but the print wasn't that summery. Besides, I could wear a sweater over it, and nobody would even know that it was sleeveless. I bought the sweater a few years ago, and I've never worn it -- it still had the tags on it! How bad is that? The color was a perfect match to the dress too.
The tights -- wow, they were a perfect match too. I had just bought them yesterday. They were on sale, and I thought that I would probably be able to wear them with something. I haven't been successful in wearing the colorful tights look, and I thought that dark-colored tights would be more my speed. I think I was right, because I liked the way they looked with this dress. And I got my necklace and my purse when I was out thrifting just the other day!
I felt so pretty -- like I looked so put together. And it felt good on me, and it still felt like me. It was one of those days when every picture came out great, and I ended up posting them all because I couldn't decide which one I liked best. I don't think that I could have taken a bad picture -- I had that pretty feeling from the inside out.
Can you tell that I really liked my outfit today? I mean, I really, really liked it :-). For whatever reason, everything just worked really well together, and it was so easy -- everything I picked up just seemed to match on the first try. That never happens with me. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, and the birds were singing.
