dress — Old Navy (Old Navy)
jacket —Gap (thrifted)
boots — Enzo Angiolini (thrifted)
In case you can't tell, I'm the one on the right (the yummy stuff is on the right ...) (and yeah, I'm wearing that jacket, again!)
This was another disastrous outfit, and in some respects it's worse than the one I wore here. Why is it worse? Because I actually did wear it to work. Ack! Too wrinkled. Too short. Too ... ACK! (fill in the blank) ... (I left the jacket on ALL day! and not because I was or afraid of forgetting it. See here. LOL.) To be fair to myself, I did get a fair number of compliments... but more than likely that was because I wore it on a gray and dreary day, and the colors were bright and cheery.
I'm not sure if this is salvageable, but I'm going to try — I just love the color! I think that if I wore it with heavier tights, I could get away with it being too short. Or maybe I just need to cut it off and wear it as more of a longer sweater?
What have you regretted wearing to work?
I think you should have color-blocked with it.. With a bright colored jacket
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's too short, but I know that being tall, stuff feels short even if it doesn't look it. I'd definitely try a thicker tight, but that may be because I don't like sheer tights. I love the boots and the color, which I think of as emerald now, is gorgeous on you. Definitely wear this again, maybe just tweak it a bit, because the color is WOW on you.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's too short either but you'd probably feel more confident in opaque tights. I love the color too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE this color combo on you! I agree with you that opaque tights might make you more comfortable, but you have the legs to wear it either way. Great with boots, but maybe booties or just classic chunky heels with the opaque tights for additional options?
ReplyDeleteKari, I got the same inspiration from "mint ice cream cake" back in the spring. I love this color combo and you wear it well! Don't second guess yourself cuz you look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love mint chocolate chip! This is cute. Yes, I think I might like it better with heavier tights.
ReplyDeleteDitto on the tights, but I really love the color and shape of the dress, Kari - I'd definitely wear it again. Now I am hungry : >
ReplyDeleteYou are just tooooo cute! The colors look great on you! I agree on the tights.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly it seems I have the same problem with feeling that all my dresses are a couple of inches shorter than I'd like. Don't know if its been a style shift or another birthday. I've experimented with adding a skirt underneath..to add a couple inches of another color and also because it gives (especially a sweater dress) a bit more structure. Not sure yet.
